How do Dermal Fillers work?
Dermal fillers are a hyaluronic acid formulation used as an injection into the skin to provide volume and instant correction. They are biodegradable gels that are easily injected into problem areas. This provides hydration, structure and volume, smoothing out the lines and wrinkles resulting in a younger, fresher, rejuvenated appearance.
Are Dermal Fillers safe?
Any treatment carries a degree of risk. All risks and complications will be discussed at length with you at consultation and prior to any treatment being agreed. To reduce your risk, dermal fillers must always be administered by a healthcare professional with specialist training. At Bath Spa Beauty the clinicians are trained to a high standard and have thorough knowledge of facial anatomy, something which sets them apart.
Side effects include, but are not limited to;
Redness, swelling, bruising, itching and tenderness. These side effects are temporary and usually resolve within the first few days, swelling can be more noticeable the next morning but settles within hours, bruising is unusual but can take a week to 10 days to resolve and can sometimes persist for longer.
Do Dermal Fillers hurt?
Treatment doesn’t have to be painful. We usually apply topical anaesthetic cream prior to treatment to numb the area. The product we use also contain a local anaesthetic.
Unlike many other treatment providers we are able to numb the area directly if necessary.
How long do Fillers last?
The results of Dermal Filler injections are instantly visible and whilst longevity of results vary between individuals usually they will last between 6 and 18 months. Top up injections are recommended once you notice the results starting to lessen.
